YOUTH AT RISK AND NON- FORMAL AREA OF ANIMATION Our History Our works are inspired by the Salesian Spirituality of Presence, challenged by the Marginalization of the Young at risk and strengthened with an integral formation of the young. Our Response All Marialaya centers of our province are working exclusively for the Young at Risk. There are six centers in the Province. They are Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Madurai, Dharmapur and Erode. Our Approach
  • The Women help line functions with 24 hours round the clock toll fare free no. for Coimbatore DT. for women in distress.
  • We offer through Assistance booth service to reach out to children situation.
  • Our AIDS Awareness Programme extended to factories, schools and local neighborhoods.
  • We offer prison ministry for Juvenile Children, youth and women in particular.
  • The Women Cell is to cater to the grievances of women in distress.

SHELTER HOME Children are given spiritual and human formation. Their education is taken care of. Important feasts and awareness days are celebrated. Daily yoga and meditation is given and the faith formation is looked after. Sunday catechism is taken. Monthly one movie and documentary films are shown and discussed. Those who have parents the parents meeting is conducted once a term. NON FORMAL EDUCATION Separate syllabus is followed. All the important days such as human rights day, girl children day, Independence Day, World environment day etc… are remembered, celebrated and awareness is being created. Sports are conducted. Children parliament is started and the youth groups are formed. Teachers are given orientation and training. SUPPLEMENTARY CLASSES
