Who we are

The Sisters of Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (FMA), popularly known as FMA Sisters or Salesian sisters serve the humanity worldwide. FMA-NDF (FMA- National Development Forum) is a National body of the Salesian Sisters engaged in social ministry in India. Inspired by the charism of the founders St. John Bosco & St. Mary Mazzarello and recognizing with gratitude the prophetic role played by the members of FMA historically, the FMAs in India have decided to march ahead along with the marginalized in responding to the challenges of the times.
FMA-NDF India is a National Network of the Social Development Organizations of the six provinces: Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Kolkotta, Mumbai and Shillong that accompanies children, youth and women to protect, promote and realise their rights under the auspices of the Provincial Council of India (PCI) . All these six provinces have Social Development Offices (SDOs) led by Social Development Coordinators (SDCs) in their provinces. These SDOs take care of the social development activities of the provinces respectively. Together with the marginalised, FMAs in India strive to build a just, harmonious and eco- friendly communities towards the fullness of life.
